On a map of the U.S., small red stars like big X’s on a treasure map indicate the locations of Indian casinos. It takes just a short look at the map produced by SODAK, Gaming Inc., to see the stars tightly clustered onto the small panhandle outline of Oklahoma are a small galaxy in comparison to the barren states that border it.

“I was just floored when I looked at the map and saw how many casinos are here,” said Monica Odom, sales representative for SODAK, Gaming Inc., a slot machine vending company.

Casinos see drop in September revenue - 2003-10-22
Louisiana's state-licensed casinos witnessed their earnings drop nearly 5 percent in September from a year ago as play slowed in the Texas-oriented Shreveport-Bossier City and Lake Charles markets.

The 14 dockside casinos, Harrah's New Orleans Casino and slot machine casinos at race tracks won $150 million last month -- compared with $157 million in September 2002.
