Budget counts on casino profits - 2003-04-04 House Republican leaders Thursday called for using $100 million in anticipated profits from a state-operated casino to reduce budget cuts that Gov. Tim Pawlenty proposed for cities, nursing homes, public colleges and universities, and ethanol plants.
In addition to relying on casino earnings for extra cash, House Republicans proposed saving $51 million over two years by freezing the state's payments for employee health insurance at current levels.
