Sega sells some assets to Vegas company - 2003-04-05 Shuffle Master Inc. of Las Vegas announced today it consented to acquire some assets and intellectual property owned by Sega Corp.'s Sega Gaming Technology Inc. unit, mostly related to the North American gaming market.
Terms weren't disclosed.
Shuffle Master said the transaction involves current inventory and licenses to the rights of Sega's Royal Ascot, Royal Derby, Sega Blackjack, Bingo Party and Roulette Club games.
Shuffle Master plans to expand these products by incorporating some of its table games into electronic

STATE BUDGET: Pawlenty threatens casino veto - 2003-04-05 Don't bet that Minnesota will open a state-operated casino in the near future.
Gov. Tim Pawlenty stated Friday that if a bill authorizing such a casino ever reaches his desk, he "probably" would veto it.
"I oppose 'racino,' " Pawlenty said, referring to a proposal to authorize the Minnesota State Lottery to put 2,000 slot machines at the Canterbury Park racetrack in Shakopee. Read the full story at Pioneer Planet |
