Ethics board refuses to back off casino job - 2004-01-10
A state judge on Friday sustained a Louisiana Board of Ethics ruling that says Calcasieu Parish police juror-elect Kevin Guidry cannot take office while still working at his casino job.

Guidry did not say what his next move will be. He is scheduled to be sworn in Monday.

State law prohibits an elected official from doing business with a riverboat casino except as a patron, the board said in a November opinion.
