Music, computers subjects at workshop - 2004-01-12
The Juvenile Justice Coalition of Buchanan County Inc. will host its 21st annual Delinquent and Problem Youth Workshop on Jan. 30 at the St. Jo Frontier Casino.

The day-long workshop will be divided into two sessions. The morning session, entitled “Music and your kids: Sex, drugs and ... manic depression?” will be presented by John Warner, a Columbia, Mo., police officer. It will inform adults about the types of music and lyrics in which kids are currently interested.

St. Joseph Police Department Detectives Mike Wilson and Fritz Adams will present the afternoon session, which is entitled “Computers: Protecting our children from predators. What parents should know.” This session will discuss computer safety and will offer tips for parents, teachers and others who work with children.

'Honey bun' heist suspect nabbed - 2004-01-12
A third suspect in last fall's "honey bun" burglary at the Grand Casino in Tunica was arrested Sunday in Arizona and authorities have issued a warrant for another suspect who escaped the police.

Linda 'Lynn' Stevenson, 22, of Michigan was arrested in Tempe, stated Special Agent Alan Thompson with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.

Police, acting on tips, followed a cross-country trail in their hunt for Stevenson and another suspect, Jason Godown, 32, of Robinsonville, Miss.
