Braves’ 9-game win streak ends - 2004-01-12 Brownstown Central’s game Saturday had the look and feel of a classic visit to the local casino boat. It had all the promise of a big day, with the Braves looking to extend their winning streak to 10 games and conference-leading sixth victory. But it also had the reality of the “house,” in this case, Charlestown. The Pirates took advantage of the odds and ended with a win of 55-46.
Right out of the gate, the Braves (10-2, 5-1) felt like it was their night to go home winners when Kerry Hackman rolled the dice with a three point try and connected for the first points of the game. The Braves continued their hot streak for the rest of the first quarter by taking defensive gambles and finding themselves in the Pirates’ passing lanes. Turnberry begins MGM Grand sales - 2004-01-12 MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and Aventura-based Turnberry Associates said they have started sales for The Residences at MGM Grand Las Vegas, which the partners bill as the first condominium-hotel development on the Las Vegas Strip.
Jeffrey Soffer, principal at Turnberry, said the MGM Grand project is an opportunity for his real estate development and property management firm to affiliate with one of the country's top hotels.
