Mohegan Tribe Invests In Wisconsin Casino - 2004-01-13
After the great success with the Mohegan Sun, the Mohegan Tribe is gambling with another casino. The tribe has invested in a gaming and entertainment complex planned by the Kenosha, Wis.-based Menominee tribe, and will sit on the board supervising its development.

It is the first time the Mohegans have agreed to help fund an outside gaming facility. The Mohegans are still paying off a $1-billion debt for the Project Sunburst expansion at Mohegan Sun, but tribal chairman Mark Brown said the Wisconsin project will allow the tribe to diversify.

Skycity buys Whangarei multiplex - 2004-01-13
Whangarei's cinema complex has been sold to the company that owns Auckland's Sky City casino.

Cinema exhibition company Skycity Leisure has agreed to purchase Whangarei's Cinema City 5 multiplex movie theatre for $2 million.

Presently owned by Cinema City Ltd, a group of Northland investors, the Cinema City 5 complex includes five cinemas and is the sole multiple cinema complex in Northland.

Skycity Leisure director Michael Daniel said the purchase was a logical extension of the company's cinema business.
