SkyCity calculates Darwin gamble - 2004-01-15
SkyCity appears ready to spread its tentacles with the purchase of Darwin's sole licensed casino.

The entertainment company, which has interests in three casinos in New Zealand and one across the Tasman in Adelaide, confirmed on Thursday it is in discussions with the proprietors of the MGM Grand Darwin in Australia's Northern Territory.

It is currently doing due diligence with a view to acquiring it from Las Vegas-based MGM Mirage.

Sky City empire eyes Darwin casino purchase - 2004-01-15
Casino operator Sky City Entertainment said today it was discussing with Las Vegas-based MGM Mirage Inc, owners of the MGM Grand Darwin casino, the possibility of purchasing the business.

"The company confirms that it is undertaking due diligence of the Darwin business and is in the process of negotiating terms for a potential acquisition," Sky said.
