City picks Pinnacle for casino - 2004-01-16
Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. got the okay Thursday to open a new casino in downtown St. Louis, prompting hopes of a building boom on Laclede's Landing but throwing the President Casino on the Admiral back into limbo.

A selection committee formed by St. Louis Development Corp. chose Pinnacle over Isle of Capri Casinos Inc., which had planned to buy the President out of bankruptcy as the first phase of its project.

Man robs Rapid City casino - 2004-01-16
An armed man robbed a Rapid City casino Thursday afternoon, police said.

The man entered the casino approximately 5:30 p.m., held out a gun and demanded money from the clerk, Rapid City police said. The man then ran off, carrying a cash register drawer.

The man got away with cash, checks and video lottery receipts, police said. The value was not disclosed.
