Casino's Admissions, Revenues Continue To Slide - 2004-01-17
With the fiscal year at the half point, the St. Jo Frontier Casino is continuing a trend of diminishing admissions and profits. A six-month report from the Missouri Gaming Commission shows that the Frontier Casino's admissions are down 12 percent and revenue is off 8 percent in the period ending Dec. 31.

The Frontier Casino's 19 percent drop in admissions last month was the largest decrease of any casino facility in the state. Revenue was off 12 percent last month. The Frontier Casino, located about a mile north of downtown St. Joseph, marks its 10th year in business this summer.

High bid could land state's last casino license - 2004-01-17
A judge Thursday permitted an auction of the state's 10th casino license to proceed, but a famous
player in the casino competition, Donald Trump, was forced to pull out from the bidding.

Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts had hoped to build a casino in Crestwood, but its proposal fell apart because a lease for the site it wanted in the south suburb could not be negotiated in time for the bid deadline, which is Monday.

Bids will be made public Tuesday morning at the Michael A. Bilandic Building, 160 N. La Salle, beginning a process that could see the dormant license awarded to a winning bidder in March.
