Kent Smith-Windsor says the chamber does not regret pushing hard on the downtown casino front. He is still optimistic the planned SIGA casino to now be built south of the city on the Whitecap reserve adjacent to an exclusive golf course will also benefit
the area.

Park Place sues over slots at Rosecroft Raceway - 2004-01-02
A Las Vegas casino company has filed a lawsuit asserting that it holds the sole rights to operate and manage slot machines at Rosecroft Raceway in Oxon Hill, a move that could cause problems in the effort to sell the track and develop gambling there.

Bally's Manager Inc., a subsidiary of Park Place Entertainment Corp., sued the owners of Rosecroft on Dec. 23 in Prince George's County Circuit Court, accusing them of ignoring a 1997 deal that gives the casino company the right to control slot machines and other forms of gambling if they are legalized at the racetrack.
