Park Place sues over slots at Rosecroft Raceway - 2004-01-02 A Las Vegas casino company has filed a lawsuit asserting that it holds the sole rights to operate and manage slot machines at Rosecroft Raceway in Oxon Hill, a move that could cause problems in the effort to sell the track and develop gambling there.
Bally's Manager Inc., a subsidiary of Park Place Entertainment Corp., sued the owners of Rosecroft on Dec. 23 in Prince George's County Circuit Court, accusing them of ignoring a 1997 deal that gives the casino company the right to control slot machines and other forms of gambling if they are legalized at the racetrack.
