Plan could pave all city streets - 2004-01-20
Hesperia’s roads may be paved in just a few years with funds borrowed through leveraging Hesperia’s annual casino profits, suggests Councilman Dennis Nowicki.

“It would be a large enough amount to pave every street in Hesperia over a two-year period,” Nowicki said. “That would immediately give back to the community.”

Nowicki’s idea is dependent upon voters approving Measure X, a March 2 ballot measure that approves, or rejects, the city’s municipal services agreement with the Timbisha Shoshone tribe.

PR firm hired by Colusa tribe - 2004-01-20
The Colusa Casino Indian tribe has hired a Sacramento public relations firm to take care of its advertising and public relations activities.

Runyon Saltzman & Einhorn Inc. said Monday it was hired by the Cachil Dehe Band of Wintun Indians to manage the communication activities in the Sacramento region for the tribe and the casino.

"We are very pleased to be working with the Colusa Casino," said Runyon Saltzman Vice President Scott Rose. "This is an exciting account, and we are anticipating some great results, not only for the casino itself, but for the Cachil Dehe Band, too."
