Casino's Admissions, Revenues Continue To Slide - 2004-01-21
With the fiscal year half over, the St. Jo Frontier Casino is continuing a trend of diminishing admissions and profits. A six-month report from the Missouri Gaming Commission shows that the Frontier Casino's admissions are down 12 percent and revenue is off 8 percent in the period ending Dec. 31.

The Frontier Casino's 19 percent drop in admissions last month was the largest decrease of any casino facility in the state. Revenue was off 12 percent last month. The Frontier Casino, located about a mile north of downtown St. Joseph, marks its 10th year in business this summer.

Regulators OK casino expansion - 2004-01-21
State gambling regulators have approved a $15.6 million development to add 400 slot machines at Dubuque Greyhound Park and Casino.

The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission voted 5-0 during its monthly meeting in Johnston last week to support the expansion plans.

The commission voted in November to request legislators to decide whether they should lift a five-year-old moratorium on new casino licenses.

However, the regulators said the Dubuque action is a separate issue because it involves an expansion of an existing casino, which isn't covered by the moratorium.
