Casino drunken driving case to proceed, rules Placer County judge - 2004-01-21
A drunk-driving defendant lost his legal argument that his arrest in the Thunder Valley Casino parking lot was invalid because Placer County did not have law enforcement jurisdiction on the tribal land.

The case against Lawrence Richard DelDotto, 56, of Rocklin shouldn’t be dismissed, Placer County Superior Court Judge James Garbolino stated in a tentative ruling Friday.

The case is set to return before the judge next month. The county and tribe, which entered into an agreement on the operation of the Lincoln casino before its opening last year, can submit briefs in connection with the case.

A New Casino Causes Concerned Neighbors - 2004-01-21
Casino Rock Island says they're one step closer to constructing one of the biggeset developments in Rock Island history. But local residents are beginning to express some concerns.

A piece of land near Highway 92 and Interstate 280 could be home to a new 90 million dollar casino complex. It's a project that could create hundreds of jobs and big money for Rock Island. And the folks who live near by at Big Island have no problems with the casino. They're concerned with Riverstone Group, the owners of the land.

Riverstone owns the area Casino Rock Island wants to buy.
