House Gaming chair says new casino taxes unlikely - 2004-01-21
Rep. Bobby Moak, chairman of the new House Gaming Committee, says he predicts there will be no tax increases on casinos in the next four years.
However, in an interview Tuesday, he added: "I'm not going to say 'never.' Nobody knows what will happen tomorrow."
Mississippi has struggled with a tight state budget the past three years, and some people have suggested raising gaming taxes to bring in more revenue.
