Floating Casinos Raided as Police Begin War Against Organized Crime - 2004-01-22
Hundreds of police participated in a raid on casino boats in the southern resort city of Eilat last night. The operation is part of the Israel Police new plan to crack down on organized crime. Police Chief Shlomo Aharonishki, who oversaw the operation said “We will turn off the oxygen on organized crime”.
Targeted were the Royal Casino, Flamingo, Lucky Dolphin, Victoria, and the Olympic casino ships docked in Eilat. They are all registered abroad, in Gibraltar and other areas.
