Odds on beach casino improve - 2004-01-23
An ambitious plan to open a First Nations-run casino near Grand Beach has been revived by the NDP government. Gambling Minister Tim Sale said yesterday he has agreed to grant the Brokenhead River Casino Resort Inc. an extension to March 1 to get its financing in place.
"They came forward with some new information that involved a much more hopeful funding opportunity," Sale said. "Based on the additional information, we decided to let them have another crack at it."
