Carey antes up for library - 2004-01-24
No matter what sort of hand Drew Carey draws on Sunday night's "The World Poker Tour Celebrity/
Charity Special," he'll be aces with the Cleveland Public Library.

For the second time on a game show, charity gambler Carey has promised all his winnings to a library system. The high-stakes game will broadcast
on the Travel Channel at 9 p.m. The program will be rebroadcast Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m.

The last time Carey got lucky on a game show was in 2000. He gave $532,000 to the Ohio Public Library System, his entire winnings from two appearances on celebrity segments of ABC's "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?"

NBC Bets On Poker For Super Bowl Sunday - 2004-01-24
NBC Sports, the World Poker Tour and the Travel Channel will bring poker to network television when "The Travel Channel World Poker Tour Battle of Champions," broadcasts from 4-6 P.M. on NBC during Super Bowl Sunday.

A 'Super Bowl Countdown Clock' will be integrated throughout the broadcast, so that viewers can keep track of just how much time remains until the beginning of the football game.

Eleven champions of poker have been invited to participate in the event, which will be taped at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
