Silence surrounds key Christchurch Casino meeting - 2004-01-27
Christchurch Casino's board is scheduled to meet today but all lips of its cornerstone shareholders were sealed ahead of what is anticipated to be a landmark meeting, The Press reported today.
Martyn Kennedy, a representative of British-based 41 per cent shareholder Aspinall, has flown to New Zealand for the board meeting.
Aspinall has been under fire from casino and Skyline Enterprises chairman Barry Thomas, who also controls 41 per cent of the business, for talking
to arch-rival Sky City Entertainment about a potential sale of its stake, worth an approximate $92 million.
