LC puts on its poker face - 2004-01-27
The flop, the turn, the river: all expressions that have developed into popular buzzwords on college campuses, in pool halls and in casinos throughout the country with the recent explosion of No Limit Texas Hold'Em.

Last weekend, Loyola found itself caught up in the poker craze as the class of 2005 and the Office of Student Activities sponsored the first ever Greyhound Texas Hold'Em Tournament in McGuire Hall.

Roughly 180 Loyola students, faculty and poker aficionados attended the event, which spanned Friday and Saturday nights. The contestants were broken down into tables of seven players each. The winner from each table then moved on to the second round where there were four tables of six people and finally to the final round of eight players at one table.

Bessey and Santerre Head the List of NASCAR Stars Coming to Rangeley - 2004-01-27
Former NASCAR Winston Cup team owner and Busch North Series star Joe Bessey and two time NASCAR Busch North Series Champion Andy Santerre will lead an expanding list of NASCAR Busch North Series race car drivers and team members into Rangeley, Maine this weekend for the 5th Annual Busch North Scene Snowmobile Poker Run for Charity.

Bessey has several wins in the NASCAR Busch North Series and Busch Series, as does Santerre, who drives Joe’s #6 Aubuchon Chevrolets in the Busch North Series. The two will be riding snowmobiles on Saturday during the Poker Run portion of the day.
