Knife cuts casino trip short - 2004-01-27
So this fellow from Lincoln takes his Christmas money and his mom up to the Par-A-Dice riverboat casino in East Peoria just like he does every other year.

As they get on the boat at about 5 p.m., one of the security guards spots a small folding knife hanging from a belt clip and tucked into the watch pocket of his jeans.

"Can we hold your knife for you while you're gone? Write your name and phone number on a sticky note and claim it when you're done"

Mille Lacs to release older casino audits - 2004-01-27
The Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe has withdrawn from a lawsuit to keep certain casino information from public view and has consented to release old audits of its gaming operations.

However, the central Minnesota band refuses to disclose more recent financial statements.

The Mille Lacs Band sued in 2001 to prevent the Minnesota Department of Public Safety from releasing casino audits from the early and mid-1990s on claims the audits contain trade secrets.
