Casino School Opens in South Jersey - 2004-01-28
As accounted by the South Jersey Business: "For all the students he's taught in the past 14 years, Brian Morris likes to believe he's handed them a passport on a silver platter.

"Now, he and business partner Eric Berry want to extend the opportunity to people in South Jersey.

"They've started the Casino Training Institute, a new business here that aims to teach people the games of craps, blackjack, roulette and baccarat in detail so they can find work as table dealers in casinos.

Pennsylvania Governor to Push for Slot Machines - 2004-01-28
In an attempt to help gaming legislation, Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell is creating a compromise bill that calls for slot machines at 12 locations, eight of them racetracks.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Jan. 28 Rendell will propose four non-track slots parlors--two in Philadelphia, one in Pittsburgh, and one at a location to be named later. The slots plan has stalled in the legislature.

"I've said all along we've needed his leadership, and what I'm hoping is we get some of that," Sen. Robert Tomlinson, whose district includes Philadelphia Park, told the Inquirer.
