RACETRACK CASINO IS OFF AND RUNNING - 2004-01-29
The state opened its first racetrack casino in Saratoga Springs yesterday in an impressive plan to raise $2 billion annually for education and increase attendance at ailing racetracks throughout New York.

The facility at Saratoga's trotting track is one of nine planned racetrack gaming rooms, or "racinos," including facilities at Yonkers and Aqueduct.

Seven stand-alone sites also are slotted for the gambling halls.

Beau Rivage revenue - 2004-01-29
Beau Rivage, the largest moneymaker in the Coast casino market, reported a 3 percent increase in annual earnings.

According to figures published Wednesday by MGM Mirage, the casino's parent company, Beau Rivage had nearly $300 million in revenue during 2003, compared to $290.1 million the year before.
