MTR Gaming Unveils Plan For Racetrack - 2004-01-30
Erie City Council and members of the Port Authority
got their first look at a planned race track and hotel development on Erie`s lake front on Thursday.

MTR gaming wants to convert the former International Paper Company property into an entertainment mecca.

On behalf of the race track and gambling casino operator MTR Gaming, Erie developer Greg Rubino went before council and the port authority to lay out plans for the lake front property.

Zia Partners fire back at Nevada businessman's challenge on Hobbs track - 2004-01-30
The partnership group that won the license to open a new racetrack and casino in Hobbs is trying to ensure it keeps it.

Billy Blackburn, the attorney for Zia Partners, said Thursday the State Racing Commission should once and for all deny the application filed by Nevada businessman Shawn Scott.

Blackburn contends Scott provided erroneous information to the commission on his application for the Hobbs track license.
