‘Vegas’ just a word - 2004-01-30
With parking lots at Indian casinos crammed with cars, there appears to be a buzz symbol called “Las Vegas style gambling” that arouses the ire of opponents.
Gamble, as defined in the dictionary, is to bet money on the outcome of a game, contest or other event. Las Vegas and Indian Casino simply mean gamble.
Many folks oppose the notion of Oklahoma hosting 80-odd Indian casinos where lights flash, money changes hands, and the “house” is sure to win. For many Oklahoma folks, the event is worthy.
