Hartford man charged with stealing $900 - 2004-01-30
A Hartford man was arrested Thursday after police said he was seen attempting to walk away with nine $100 bills from a blackjack table at Foxwoods Resort Casino.

Police said surveillance personnel saw Harvey Stanhope, 41, of 34 Forest St. put money in his shirt pocket and the money fall to the floor as he walked away.

A Pusan prosecutor said Wednesday he is questioning U.S. base personnel involved in “Casino Night,” a weekly blackjack, poker and baccarat night shut down in October.

Prosecutor Kang In-chul did not name the Americans but said he's asked the Army's Criminal Investigation Command, which also is investigating,
to help.

However, USFK spokeswoman Lt. Col. Deborah Bertrand said, “We have checked and are unaware of the Office of the Pusan Prosecutor contacting anyone on base for assistance in their investigation.”
