Britney Spears 'Joke' Wedding May Have Serious Consequences - 2004-01-05
Pop star Britney Spears married a childhood friend in Las Vegas early Saturday morning according to press accounts. The wedding was a result of a joke gone too far, at least that’s the way it has been reported. And it seems the couple is already having second thoughts.

Spears and her new husband, 22-year-old Jason Allen Alexander, apparently decided to get married on Friday night as they partied at the Palms Casino Hotel’s Ghostbar. After securing a license, Spears decked out in jeans and baseball cap was walked down the isle by a hotel bellman.

Man robs drinking buddy after fight in motel room - 2004-01-05
A fight in a downtown Reno motel room Sunday morning ended with one of the guests being robbed by his drinking companion, Reno police said.

Investigators said two men were drinking together in a downtown casino just before 9 a.m. After about 20 minutes in the victim’s motel room at 370 West St., the suspect reportedly broke a beer can in half and demanded the victim’s money. During the fight, the suspect took the victim’s wallet and fled, police said.
