Travis, 4 former state officials back casino gambling - 2004-01-05

State Rep. David Travis, D-Madison, and former Democratic Gov. Tony Earl are among those who joined the Coalition for the Fair Indian Gambling and Revenue Sharing Agreements, which is sponsored by the Ho-Chunk Nation.

The new casino boosters were announced Monday. The pro-casino group is pushing for a "yes" vote on a Feb. 17 referendum, which will ask Dane County voters if they want expanded gambling - including blackjack, roulette and poker - at the bingo hall on Madison's Southeast Side.
