Tribes take option on Dairyland track - 2004-01-06
Dairyland Greyhound Park officials have consented to sell an option to buy the track to a group that includes the Menominee tribe, a Connecticut-based tribe and a local developer, Dairyland Vice President Roy Berger said Tuesday.
The group means to make another bid to transform the site to an off-reservation casino, Berger said.
The track's board of directors agreed to sell the track to an investment group that includes the Menominee and Mohican Indian tribes, Berger said in an interview. The sale is contingent on the group, called Kenesah Gaming Development LLC, securing the necessary local, state and federal approvals to develop a casino.
