Biloxi casino breaks ground for new hotel tower - 2004-01-07
Construction of a new hotel tower at Biloxi's Isle of Capri Casino started Tuesday when a crane removed a portion of a parking ramp.

The ramp is being removed because the parking deck north of the hotel will serve as the base of the tower, the second at the casino complex.

The new tower represents the second phase of the Isle's $80 million expansion.

"We've been waiting about five years for this moment," said Bill Kilduff, vice president and casino general manager. "For this project to come to fruition, it took hard work from many people."

Menomonee Tribe Revives Dairyland Casino Plan - 2004-01-07
The Menomonee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin revived plans to build a casino at Dairyland Greyhound Park in Kenosha after a developer exercised exclusive rights to acquire the track and its assets for $40.5 million.

To develop the casino, the tribe will work with the developer, Dennis Troha, and the Mohegan Tribe in Connecticut, which will act as a lender to the developer and serve on the development board.

The plans include the development of a Class III gaming facility, which will include slot machines, blackjack, craps, roulette, poker and other table games. The tribe plans to keep the greyhound racetrack and pari-mutuel wagering on simulcast racing in operation.
