After months of disputes, Howard Hughes Corp. received approval for what the company plans to make the spark that ignites "new urban core" in Summerlin.

Station Casinos Inc. won Clark County Commission approval to develop its newest and largest resort on 68 acres in what will be Summerlin Center.

The casino company bought the land from Howard Hughes Corp. last year. The Hughes Corp. had backed the casino company's controversial effort to win approval for a 1,500-room, 300-foot-high Red Rock Station resort at the intersection of the Las Vegas Beltway and Charleston Boulevard.

Two parachutists charged after jump from Atlantic City casino - 2004-01-09
Two parachutists were arrested after they jumped from the roof of a casino building this weekend, provoking the casino's operators to again call for harsher penalties that they said could discourage others from attempting such potentially deadly stunts.

David Vowles, 21, and Andrew Rossig, 23, both of Warwick, N.Y., were charged Saturday with criminal mischief and trespass after they plummeted more than 500 feet from the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort and safely landed in a nearby parking lot, authorities said.
