Gambling service's funding slashed - 2004-02-01
A counselling service that helps problem gamblers has had its budget cut by 25 per cent.
The Central West Gambling Service has had at least $100,000 cut from its allocation for the next financial year.
The organisation is funded by the Casino Community Benefit Fund (CCBF), where the NSW Government places a levy on the Star City Casino.
Last financial year the service received $457,000, which is down to $344,000 for the year commencing July 1, 2004.
