Mobile gambling from Motile Interactive - 2004-02-10
Meet Mr.Wong, a 17-year veteran of Nortel Networks and presently the President and Chief Operating Officer of Motile Interactive System. His mobile phone gambling startup is betting that mobile gambling or betting from cellphones is going to 'wow' at least 269 million cell phone users in countries such as China.

Wong's company Motile Interactive System has developed a roulette game that can be hooked up to a casino and played via a cell phone. To cash in on this prospective new market and the mobile boom across developing countries, last fall his firm started taking classic gambling games like roulette, blackjack, keno, craps and developing interactive and mobile versions of them, which can be played on cellular phones.

Port Backs Tribe's Idea For Third Casino - 2004-02-10
The Puyallup Tribe of Indians on Monday received the support of the Port of Tacoma in efforts to open a third casino on reservation land. In return, the tribe will discontinue its objection to the port's proposed closure of Alexander Avenue, necessary for development of a $210 million container terminal on Blair Waterway.

The tribe currently operates the Emerald Queen Casino on Blair Waterway along Alexander Avenue, and another casino near Interstate 5 in East Tacoma. Opening of a third casino must be approved by Gov. Gary Locke. The location of a third Puyallup Tribe casino - and the possible closure and relocation of the Emerald Queen - is under study, said Puyallup Tribal Chairman Bill Sterud on Monday.
