Disputed Number Of Ho-Chunk Workers Pink-Slipped - 2004-02-11
News 3 has discovered a restructuring of sorts is underway within the Ho-Chunk nation, and it's already started to have an impact on casino jobs.

News 3 has confirmed a minimum of 55 people lost their jobs at three Ho-Chunk casinos last week. Some employees claim the number is much higher. One worker at the Lake Delton casino complex told News 3 that 160 workers were terminated Friday and Saturday.

Late Tuesday, the president of the Ho-Chunk Nation confirmed layoffs, but cited a much smaller number.

SkyCity's the limit - 2004-02-11
KIWI gaming group, SkyCity Entertainment, has snagged its second Australian casino, yesterday revealing it was purchasing the MGM Grand Darwin casino for $195 million.

The deal is subject to regulatory and Australian Foreign Investment Review Board approvals, anticipated to take two to three months to complete, SkyCity said.

Apart from minor spending, mostly associated with naming and branding changes, SkyCity does not expect to spend much after it takes over.
