Casino distance bill amended - 2004-02-11
City council Tuesday amended a video lottery ordinance to exempt businesses that have filed a lottery commission application by Feb. 20 from the more stringent rules.
The unamended legislation would have prohibited establishments not in operation when the ordinance takes effect from within 1,500 feet of schools, churches, residential areas and other casinos regardless of the status of their application with the state.
