Port backs Puyallups' push for third casino - 2004-02-11
The Puyallup Tribe of Indians might encounter little resistance in a move to open another casino on reservation land.

On Monday, the tribe and officials from the Port of Tacoma signed an agreement that gives the port's support in the tribe's efforts to land its third casino.

The proposal eventually needs final approval from the governor's office.

But it's unlikely such a move would be blocked, Susan Arland, a spokeswoman for the Washington State Gambling Commission, said Tuesday.
