No-casino trio enter recall fray - 2004-02-12
Three casino critics, including two former Plymouth mayors, filed papers Friday in the recall election of two of Plymouth City Council members and the mayor.

“No surprises,” said Jan Price of the county deputy registrar’s office of the three long-anticipated announcements of candidacy.

Elida A. Malick filed as a replacement candidate for the position currently held by Councilman Gary Colburn, Michael O’Meara filed for the position held by Councilman Rich Martin and Pat Shackleton filed for the post of Mayor Darlene Scanlon.

LV firm's casino plan advances - 2004-02-12
A plan by Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. of Las Vegas to construct a $300 million casino complex in south St. Louis County beat out Isle of Capri's proposal Tuesday, setting up Pinnacle to develop two new casinos in the city and county.

The proposals face additional approvals before they can move forward.

St. Louis County Port Authority commissioners approved the choice of Pinnacle, made by a selection committee.
