The Chukchansi Indian tribe and Cascade Entertainment have consented to pay at least $17 million owed to subcontractors who worked last year to construct the Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino in Coarsegold.

Walton Construction told subcontractors in a letter Tuesday that Cascade, which manages the gaming complex, and the tribe agreed to have money available for payment to the subcontractors. Money still owed to Walton was not included in the agreement, according to the letter.
