$200,000 keno prize won at Mount Clemens tavern - 2004-02-12
A Mount Clemens area man's decision to visit a local establishment rather than a Detroit casino Wednesday paid off in a winning $200,000 keno ticket.

The man, whose name is "James," won the prize by matching all 10 numbers in the Michigan State Lottery Club Keno game and betting $2. He played the game at John Barleycorn's bar and restaurant, winning at around 1 p.m.

"At first he thought he had eight numbers and then nine numbers," said bartender Annette Androws. "I said, 'Give me the ticket.' I told him, 'You have all 10 numbers.'

Leukemia patient Sarah Genuis stole the show at last night's Allan Border Medal presentation at Crown casino.

The courageous Melbourne teenager, scheduled to have a bone marrow transplant later this year, graced the red carpet as the date of tearaway Australian pace bowler Brett Lee.

Lee invited Genuis, 14, to cricket's night of nights through the Make A Wish Foundation.

Sarah told the Herald Sun it was the best night of her life.
