Authorities probe death of man who burst into Sands building - 2004-02-12
Authorities are still investigating the death of a Sicklerville man who forced his way into a casino administration building and died after a fight with security personnel that was captured on videotape.

The handcuffed body of Lanier J. Blunt, 29, of Sicklerville, was found in the lobby of the Sands Casino Hotel Administrative Offices when police - responding to a 911 call from casino security - arrived, according to Atlantic County Prosecutor Jeffrey S. Blitz.

The cause of death is not yet known.

Man dies after scuffle with Sands casino security - 2004-02-12
A man who forced his way into a casino office passed away after a struggle with security workers, authorities said.

The handcuffed body of Lanier J. Blunt, 29, of Sicklerville was found in the lobby of a Sands Hotel & Casino telephone reservation office when police — responding to a 911 call from casino security — arrived, according to Atlantic County Prosecutor Jeffrey Blitz.

According to Blitz, Blunt forced his way into the Kentucky Avenue building just before midnight Monday, appearing disoriented. He was forcibly subdued by an unknown number of guards before casino security called 911, Blitz said.
