Opponents warn slots are likely for Timonium - 2004-02-13
Montgomery County Executive Doug Duncan forecasts that slot machines will come to the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium if the General Assembly approves a bill legalizing slots.
"If we approve slots now, casinos will follow," Duncan said last week in Annapolis. "Slots will not provide enough money.
"Ocean City, Timonium: (slot machines) are coming."
Duncan spoke at a press conference held by a grassroots coalition of citizens, clergy and more than a dozen delegates and senators.
