NEVADA ECONOMY: Casino companies still top tax list - 2004-02-13
The tax man cometh, but his bite is not exactly the same for everybody.

The current taxable value of Clark County's top casino companies actually declined slightly from last year, an annual list issued by the Clark County assessor's office showed.

The major taxpayers also shifted position with MGM Mirage retaining its No. 1 spot on the taxable value list for Southern Nevada business, despite dropping $300 million in value, but Mandalay Resort Group moved into the No. 2 spot, pushing Caesars Entertainment to No. 3.

Soulful slice of life up North - 2004-02-13
It just goes to show, you can live in a country and completely miss the revolution. How many have heard of Northern Soul music or the Wigan Casino?

Once Upon A Time In Wigan, is the story of a small derelict ballroom in the Lancashire town, that changed its name to the Wigan Casino and created an 'All Nighter' where the music was hot and soulful, the small dance floor full of dancers who gave their all, sweated gallons and fell out of the hall in the early hours of Sunday.
