Port Huron Casino: All Bets May Be Off - 2004-02-17 After nearly 18 months of work, congressional lawmakers are giving up hope they will be able to pave the way for an Indian casino near Port Huron's Thomas Edison Inn. Legislation to make a necessary land swap possible has failed to pass the House of Representatives or Senate the past two years.
"This is something that we're just going to have to keep working with colleagues on," said U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow, a Democrat from Lansing.
