Developer Donald Trump has been approved by state regulators to hold a share in the Riviera hotel-casino, but claims the Las Vegas Strip resort is a foot-in-the-door opportunity and doesn't figure in his future Nevada plans.

After the state Gaming Commission's unanimous vote, Trump also says his plans don't include further Indian gambling ventures in California, for now.

Backers Of Tribe Reveal More Of Casino-Site Search - 2004-02-19
A small Worcester area tribe which hopes to become a gambling powerhouse is keeping its options wide open when it comes to a casino site, considering land in several New England states, documents show. The Webster-based Nipmuc group has for years eyed sites on either side of the Massachusetts/Connecticut border, including land in Sturbridge, which straddles the line.

But the report by the Minnesota-based Lakes Gaming Inc., quietly released a few months ago as part of an overview of its nationwide casino empire, makes it clear the Nipmucs are casting a much wider net in pursuing a gambling palace.
