State union for a casino - 2004-02-02
The state's biggest employees union weighed in today on the side of the proposed Ho-Chunk casino on the southeastern edge of Madison.
"The Madison area is home to the majority of the 28,000 employees we represent," said Marty Beil, executive director of the Wisconsin State Employees
Union, AFSCME Council 24, in a written statement.
Board members of the union voted to support the Feb. 17 referendum on permitting the DeJope bingo hall to become a casino, Beil said.
