Tidelands 'roadblock' puts Clark in hot seat - 2004-02-02
An obvious stall in negotiations between D'Iberville casino developers and Secretary of State Eric Clark over a public tidelands lease has upset some South Mississippi lawmakers and raised strong talk around the Capitol of a legislative challenge to Clark's control over the public waterbottoms along the Coast.

"D'Iberville has worked for years and years and years for this project, and people have thrown up roadblock after roadblock," said Rep. Danny Guice, R-Ocean Springs.

Award winners named tonight - 2004-02-02
The winner of the 2003 Townsville Bulletin Sportstar
of the Year Award will be announced tonight.

Finalists and guests will attend a dinner at Jupiters Townsville Hotel and Casino from 5.30pm before moving to the Entertainment Centre for the Townsville Challenge between former world No. 1 tennis players Pat Rafter and Mats Wilander.

The winner of the Sportstar of the Year Award will be announced after the best-of-three-sets match.
