Fresno County, Calif., Official Fears Environmental Impact of Casino Plan - 2004-02-20 A Caesars Entertainment casino in the Friant Auberry area would bring more tourists and workers, resulting in additional traffic and air pollution in a region with insufficient sewer and water systems, a Fresno County official claims.
The $200 million casino -- with a 250- to 300-room hotel, more than 75,000 square feet of gaming space, 2,000 slot machines, 20 gaming tables, retail and entertainment -- would be the largest in the central San Joaquin Valley. Read the full story at Miami Herald |

Gaming board delays casino finalist decision - 2004-02-20 The Illinois Gaming Board will wait until Wednesday to select three final bidders for the state's last casino license, giving staff two more days to review the complex bid proposals.
The board also revealed new details about the bids, which range from $20 million to $506 million.
