A 24-page development agreement between Rock Island Boatworks and the City of Rock Island details the financial incentives that have been negotiated between city officials and the owner of the Illinois Quad-City gambling establishment.

Chips are down for casino fraudsters - 2004-02-22
Radio-transmitting casino chips expected to be released to the market later this year could make life more difficult for gambling cheats.

The chips contain tiny "tags" that broadcast a unique identification code. Not only will they combat counterfeiting and theft, but they could help casino operators monitor gamblers.

American casino owners already routinely keep an eye on their tables with security cameras. The casinos want to check that big winners are not cheating, and to identify lucrative "high rollers" who can be encouraged to play more, helping turnover.
