TRIBAL STAFF: GT Band appoints casino executive - 2004-02-24 The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians appointed Ron Olson, an American Indian, to manage its casino operations.
Olson, general manager for Victories Casino and Hotel in Petoskey since 2000, will serve as chief executive officer of Traverse Bay Entertainment, the tribe said Monday.

State accepts casino's backers - 2004-02-24 The state Gambling Commission has now read over the Stillaguamish Tribe's contract to develop a casino near Arlington, and the state agency's investigators say it appears legitimate.
The key issue for financing tribal casinos in the state is whether the funds are coming from federally regulated banks.
