Ellis Park left out of casino proposal - 2004-02-26 Ellis Park has been cut out of a proposal that would approve casino gambling at nine locations throughout Kentucky, including Owensboro.
If the legislation were to pass the Kentucky General Assembly and be approved by voters in November, it would raise more questions as to the future of the Henderson track.

Dave and Carole are top of the mornin' - 2004-02-26 The veteran WKLH-FM (96.5) duo of Carole Caine and Dave Luczak got the best morning show honors Thursday night in the March of Dimes' Achievement in Radio awards ceremony.
The team also received an AIR award for the best non-sports interview in the sixth annual event at Potawatomi Bingo Casino's Northern Lights Theater.
In other awards, WTMJ-AM (620) talker Charlie Sykes picked up best talk show honors for the second year in a row. The top afternoon show was Brian Fisher on WLZR-FM (102.9).
